The protection of biodiversity cannot be viewed in isolation. Many of our existing measures—such as those related to chemicals management or wastewater management, as well as our water efficiency projects—are intrinsically linked to biodiversity considerations. Going forward, we intend to focus our efforts on further investigating and reducing the potential impacts of our production on sensitive ecosystems.

To this end, we are considering specific measures such as green roofs or unsealing areas on factory premises. The key prerequisite: close cooperation with our partners in the supply chain.

Cooperation as a success factor

As with other environmental issues, we are committed to collaboration when it comes to biodiversity in the supply chain. Together with other brands, we aim to pool our knowledge, launch projects, and facilitate shared learning and implementation processes. Initial discussions on this topic are underway, and we will report on the next steps and the status of our work in our next sustainability report.

Together for more diversity

This pilot project is just the beginning. In the coming years, we will integrate biodiversity considerations even more closely into our decision-making processes—based on data and in collaboration with our partners. After all, anyone who spends time outdoors knows that biodiversity is essential for healthy ecosystems. And we share the responsibility for ensuring that it is preserved.
