2013 Sustainability Report

About this report

VAUDE is publishing its first GRI Sustainability Report for the year 2013. We will publish annual GRI reports from this point on.

Sustainability Report for 2013 first GRI-compliant report

Report Profile

This is VAUDE’s first sustainability report based on the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G4 Guidelines, It refers - as indicated in the title - to the 2013 calendar year and meets the requirements of the G4 Core Option.

Selected data and indicators underwent a limited assurance engagement by the KPMG AG auditing company. Here is the certificate.

From this point on, we will publish a GRI report annually. The contact person for questions regarding the report is Maike Bierwirth.

International comparability

Transparency and comparability are an important factor for sustainability. By applying the guidelines, our report has become even more comprehensive and transparent. Since the GRI guidelines are applied internationally, we can now be compared to companies around the world.

To make this easier, we have also standardized our report numbering. Now, the report number is based on the year from which the data originated. This is why we have a second “2013” report.

External audit for the GRI Sustainability Report 2013

We want to be Europe’s most sustainable outdoor brand by the year 2015, objectively and quantifiably. Verification of the data we present by independent third parties is therefore very important to us.

This verification is performed by various partners

  • The environmental data based on our company headquarters in Tettnang-Obereisenbach is verified by the EMAS Institute, or calculated by myclimate. This information can be found in the GRI Index.
  • Specifications about social conditions in our production facilities are compiled by the Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) in audits.
