Health and safety at work

Our employees should not only be safe at work, they should stay healthy. Therefore, we focus on a holistic health management, ranging from organic food to occupational health care.

Encouraging physical activity is an important component

As a company that outfits its customers for sporting activities, the topics of fitness and health are naturally an important concern at our own facilities in Tettnang-Obereisenbach.

Naturally, we ensure that machines and the premises in our production facilities and in logistics are safe. VAUDE has a work safety committee (ASA) that is headed by the Representative for Occupational Safety and Security.

Holistic Health Management

But, we also understand that health and safety is much more far-reaching than just this. Therefore, we are modernizing our offices in accordance with ergonomic principles. The VAUDE Café, which offers two lunch meals and a salad buffet daily, is certified organic. And the cafeteria, which we are setting up in the process of a major renovation will also be certified organic – our employees will have access to a healthy, economical lunch.

We support sports and recreation for our employees with a variety of offerings from the VAUDE Academy. Our successful mobility concept also provides motivation for bike commuting, despite working in an area surrounded by rolling hills - see also „44,335 km of bike commuting “. Starting in 2014, we are offering a workplace health promotion plan for the first 100 employees to sign up. Our holistic approach to health and safety of our employees is detailed in the section - See "Safety is paramount".

More Sport

Promoting sports and recreation is one component of the holistic health management approach at VAUDE.

Occupational safety in the supply chain

We feel responsible for the safety of employees in the production facilities of our supply chain. We primarily have facilities in China and Vietnam, where there are strict fire regulations. Also, there are only limited chemicals used in sewing production. Ergonomics, however, is an important issue of occupational safety.

The "Fair Wear Foundation" (FWF) uses audits to monitor our producers regarding health and safety in the workplace. If there are deficiencies in this respect, they are quickly resolved - see „Save Production“.
