During the reporting period, there were no nonconformities with negative consequences.
During internal random testing within our Harmful Substances Management Program, there were no cases that exceeded legal limits. However, the very strict limits of the VAUDE RSL continue to pose a challenge for the textile supply chain.
In 2016, only one Children's Backpack was tested by a consumer magazine. Chemical traces found were far below the statutory limits as well as VAUDE's even more stringent limits. This shows that the consistent monitoring of our supply chain is work well, but the systematic monitoring of the complex supply chain is also very important.
Another issue that concerned us in 2016 was trademark rights in foreign countries. This involved cancellation applications that were filed with national brands in China and Brazil that had registered a VAUDE brand in the country and which prevented us from registering VAUDE as a brand ourselves.
