Solar energy "made by VAUDE"

The photovoltaic system on the VAUDE premises generates enough electricity to meet almost 100 percent of our needs.

Clean – regional – solar

VAUDE has operated several large photovoltaic systems on its company roofs since 2008.

Photovoltaic Installation

93 percent of company needs are covered (directly or indirectly)

All systems together generated a total of 603,720 kWh of clean and regional green power in 2014. This has allowed VAUDE to cover 93 percent of its electrical needs at the Obereisenbach location.

Since 2014 we have been using our solar electricity directly at VAUDE, as long as the sun shines and the machines run. We can no longer determine the exact amount of our own consumption for 2014 because in the first half of the year, the meters for measuring our own consumption were not installed by the network operator. During the months from July to December 2014, VAUDE consumed 119,178 kWh of self-produced electricity. This corresponds to 37 percent of our electricity consumption.

The amount of electricity that we can not cover with our own solar power is purchased from the grid - 100 percent renewable electricity.

When the sun provides more energy than we consume the Tettnang-Obereisenbach location, we feed the excess electricity into the public grid as per the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG).
